Happy 2014!

Happy 2014!

I love new beginnings! It’s great to be able to wipe the slate clean and start fresh on January 1st. Every year, since I was 18, I have made a resolution to lose weight. This year, sadly, is no different BUT I am already armed with the tools I need to succeed in losing the rest of the weight I’d like to lose to be in a healthy range.

2013 was a good year for me – I was able to learn some healthy habits in February that basically changed my life! I am just a few weeks shy of my 1st Paleoversary! You’ll have to help me come up with ideas on how to celebrate! Family dinner at Mongolian BBQ?

My main focus for 2014 is to stick to Paleo as best I can and to begin a routine exercise schedule. How cliche. lol

Welcome to the new year! I can’t wait to share it with you!

Paleo Picks – August 2013

I just realized I never did July favorites — whoopsie!

Here are my favorite things in the month of August:

cauliflower – I’ve been snacking on raw cauliflower a lot this month and it’s just so good!

dark chocolate almond bark – Trader Joe’s has some amazing dark chocolate almond bark. Great for my sweet tooth. Much more rare now – but it still happens!

Paleo wraps – Love these! I wish I could buy them locally but for now I have to order them from Julian Bakery.

raspberries – I’ve been snacking on raspberries a lot this month. They’re small and sweet and are a great replacement for chips!

avocados – Slice them in half, scoop out the pit, and eat. So easy and so good!

Easy Peasy Paleo Pancakes

Mush two bananas in with 2 eggs, and cook like pancakes.  So delish!  I added fruit and pure maple syrup.  A quick and easy “sweet” breakfast!

Another option is to use egg whites.  You can also add blueberries, which is what I’m going to try next!

My 6 Month Paleoversary!

Today marks my 6 month Paleoversary!  I’m down 27 pounds of today (15 more to go!) and am so excited to see changes in my body & mind when it comes to health.  I’m so thankful that I made the choice six months ago to try Paleo and I’m even more thankful that it’s the answer I’ve been looking for.

I’ve said it before – but I started out telling myself to just try it for 2 weeks.  If you are nervous to start Paleo, try it for 2 weeks.  Who knows – it may turn into a life change for you like it has for me!
